Sophie Lamb was crowned champion at the Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Knock Golf Club, Belfast after winning with a one-under-par total of 291 (77, 68, 72 and 74). The 18-year-old finished two strokes ahead of Great Britain and Ireland international Chloe Williams.

The Ladies British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship will be played at North Berwick from 6-8 September 2017.
Located on the edge of the Firth of Forth, North Berwick Golf Club, founded in 1832, is the 13th oldest golf club in the world.
The West Links Course at North Berwick first staged Final Qualifying for The Open in 1972 and hosted Final Qualifying on five further occasions since then.
In 1999, it hosted the Vagliano Trophy match played between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe, while The Ladies British Open Amateur Championship was won by Anna Nordqvist at North Berwick in 2008.
In 2010, it co-hosted The Amateur Championship with Muirfield when Jin Jeong of South Korea defeated Scotland’s James Byrne and was the venue for the Seniors Home Internationals in 2014, when Scotland won the championship.

The competitor with the lowest 72-hole total over four rounds of stroke play will be declared the winner.
A hole-by-hole play-off determines the winner in the event of a tie.
The winner is awarded The Nicholls Trophy, while the runner-up is presented with The Holden Trophy.
Individual awards are also given for Lowest Score over 18 Holes (The Taunton Salver), Lowest Score by a player under 23 years of age (The Duncan Salver), Lowest Score by a player over 23 years of age (The Angela Uzielli Trophy), and Lowest Score by a player under 18 years of age (The Dinwiddy Trophy).
A team award is also presented to the nation with the lowest aggregate score over 72 holes.
The first Ladies British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship was played in 1969 at Northumberland Golf Club. Golfers compete for the Nicholls Trophy. Past winners include Ireland’s Leona Maguire, the 2015 and 2016 Mark McCormack Medal Winner, and Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour golfer Aditi Ashok in 2015.
