Venue

Lundin Golf Club

A James Braid designed golf course, Lundin Links can be found just 30 minutes from St Andrews. It has been used many times as a prequalifying venue for the Open Championship and in 2010 takes on the mantle as host to our Junior Open.

The Lundin course is laid out along the sea shore rising to three parkland holes on higher ground.  It is renowned for its beautiful greens and some of the most demanding short Par 4s in the game of golf. The wind plays a big part over the 18 holes with a prevailing westerly making the first few holes much longer than the yardage indicates.

A compact course with open burns, an internal out of bounds and strategic bunkering, Lundin presents a challenge for the thinking golfer where position from the tee rather than distance will yield just rewards on the scorecard.

Championship Format
All nations affiliated to The R&A are invited to enter their leading boy and girl golfers under the age of 16 for this biennial event which is played over three rounds of stroke-play. There is both a scratch and handicap element to the event. Competitors in the Gold(under 3) category play 54 holes. Those in the Silver(4-9) and Bronze (10-15) categories play 36 holes. After the tournament, all competitors have the opportunity to attend The Open Championship at St Andrews.
