Best practice course management will result in some cost savings, e.g. in pesticide, water and fertiliser bills, but these may be offset by expenditure in other areas.
Producing a drier, firmer and healthier course will increase the levels of play attainable throughout the year and reduce the number of days when temporary surfaces are employed, making the course a more attractive proposition for its clientele. This provides the opportunity to increase revenue streams and to develop a stronger financial balance sheet.
