THE R&A RESPONSE TO DEFERMENT OF DECISION ON THE REVIEW OF FREE-TO-AIR LISTED EVENTS 21 July 2010, St Andrews, Scotland: Statement from The Open Championship organiser, The R&A on Sports Minister Hugh Robertson's decision to defer a decision on the review of Free-to-Air Listed Events until 2013. Commenting on the deferment, The R&A Chief Executive, Peter Dawson said: "This is a measured and mature response from government that allows the dust to settle on the digital switchover and the BBC Strategy Review before striking the right balance between viewer expectations and the duty of individual sports to fund grassroots development."
