WAGR iPhone app launched
The world’s best amateur golfers and followers of the amateur game will now be able to check their World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) anytime, anywhere thanks to the latest iPhone app.
The WAGR, which ranks more than 8,000 male and female amateur golfers, will be available in full with users able to search for players and events by name, region and country.
Available as a free download from iTunes, the app features player biographies that include detailed event information and a breakdown of ranking points awarded.
The app was launched today at Royal Aberdeen, venue for this weekend’s Walker Cup match between GB&I and the United States.
Subscribers will also receive weekly news updates from the amateur game, tournament reports and detailed information of how the WAGR system functions.
The World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) were established in 2007 when the Men’s ranking was launched. The Women’s ranking went live in 2011 and WAGR, which is now administered in partnership with the United States Golf Association, has quickly become recognised as the world’s pre-eminent amateur golf ranking system, with numerous event organisers using it as an entry criterion for their events.
