Appeals

The national governing body for the Rules of Amateur Status must investigate possible breaches of the Rules. It has the sole authority to reinstate a person to Amateur Status.

Each governing body should establish a process for the enforcement of the Rules, including procedures for an individual to apply for reinstatement of their Amateur Status and appeals against decisions of the governing body.

For residents of Great Britain and Ireland only, an individual affected by a decision of The R&A’s Amateur Status Committee has the right to appeal the decision. Information on the Appeals Procedure can be downloaded using the links to the right.

For residents of other countries, please contact your national golf association.
