R&A Girls U16 Amateur Championship
The R&A Girls’ U16 Amateur Championship will take place at Enville from 23-25 April, a leading event for up-and-coming female golfers.
The 54-hole stroke play event, first played at Fulford in 2018, was introduced as part of The R&A’s drive to boost the girls’ game in Great Britain and Ireland and beyond, as well as provide a pathway to the elite amateur level for leading young players.

The 2019 Girls U16 Amateur Championship was won by Italy's Francesca Fiorellini. The 13-year-old sealed a three-shot victory over Scotland's Carmen Griffiths and lift the trophy at Fulford Golf Club in York.

The 2021 R&A Girls’ U16 Amateur Championship will take place at Enville from 23-25 April.
First staged in 2018, the event attracts leading players from across the world. A starting field of 90 junior girl golfers will tee it up in pursuit of success.
Enville, the Staffordshire venue, was founded in 1935. It is one of the finest examples of heathland golf in the UK. The facilities were gradually extended over a period of years until 1983, with the two 18-hole Highgate and Lodge Courses now both popular. Back in 2010, one of the most extensive practice facilities in the Midlands was added.
In 2020, Enville become the latest among a growing list of English clubs to sign up to the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter.

Entries shall be limited to 90. In the event of entries exceeding this number, the 90 players with the lowest exact handicaps will be accepted.
The Championship shall consist of 54 holes of stroke play. One round of 18 holes shall be played on each of the three days. There will be no cut.

Scotland’s Hannah Darling holed a closing 40-foot birdie putt to seal a dramatic victory, denying Beth Coulter from Ireland.
