The championship is open to players aged 50 years and over and is held annually.

The Women’s Senior Amateur Championship will be played at Ashridge from 7-9 July 2021.
Ashridge was officially opened in 1932 and has regularly featured in the top 100 golf courses in the UK. It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, only 35 miles from central London.

Format
History
The competitor with the lowest 54-hole total over four rounds of stroke play will be declared the winner.
After 36 holes, the players returning the 40 lowest scores and any tying for 40th place qualify for the final 18 holes.
A hole-by-hole play-off determines the winner in the event of a tie.

History
The first R&A Womens Senior Amateur Championship was played in 1981 at Formby Ladies’ Golf Club in Merseyside.
In the past 20 years, both Mrs E Ansagarius (2004 and 2005) and Mrs A Uzielli ( 1998 and 1999) have completed the feat of winning the championship on two consecutive years.
The winner is awarded the Clark trophy, which was presented to the LGU by Miss Linda Clark.
