Are tickets still on sale for the Amateur Championships?

Tickets for the Amateur Championships are still on sale and can be purchased online at here up to the end of each day’s play. 

Can I purchase tickets at the gate?

Yes, you will be able to make payment on entry to the event

I have purchased tickets, when will they arrive?

All tickets are  issued digitally via email. If you have not received your tickets within 24 hours of purchase please check your junk / spam email boxes. If you still can’t locate your ticket please contact The R&A via

Who should I contact if I have a problem with my tickets or the app?

If you are experiencing problems with your digital tickets please contact us by email at

I do not have a smartphone, how can I access my tickets?

If you are attending the Amateur Championships and do not have a smartphone, you should print your tickets at home in advance of attending, and ensure your printed ticket includes the QR code required to scan in on entry.

How does the 'Kids Go Free' policy work?

All tickets for Juniors (Under 16-years-old as of 13th of June) are free of charge. All Juniors must have a valid course admission ticket in order to attend the Amateur Championship, and be accompanied by a responsible adult who also holds a ticket. Junior tickets can be applied for 

Do you have a concession rate for persons over 65 years of age?

We do not offer any concessions for persons over 65 years of age. We offer Adult, Youth (16-25) and Junior (under 16) tickets only, in addition to Season Tickets for the entire week.

Will I need to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination, or a negative test result, to gain entry to the event?

Spectators will not be required to show proof of testing or vaccination to gain entry to the Amateur Championship. All spectators are encouraged to take a lateral flow test no more than 48 hours prior to attending the Amateur Championship. 

I am experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 and have been advised to self-isolate, can I be refunded for my ticket?

If you are no longer able to attend the event due to symptoms of Covid-19 or if you are required to self-isolate as a close contact, you will be entitled to a full refund of your ticket. Please contact for further advise and information.

Will physical distancing and mask wearing be required at the Amateur Championships?

Physical distancing and mask wearing will not be required at the Championship, however we would strongly encourage all spectators to physically distance wherever possible, and to wear masks in areas where you may not be able to physically distance from others. 

Do I need to purchase a Parking Pass for the event?

Free parking will be available close to the venue. Please follow the directional signage.

I require Accessible Parking for the event - can I book this in advance?

Parking at the Amateur Championships cannot be booked in advance. Please follow all signage to the event and advise the parking attendants upon arrival that you require Accessible Parking. Upon presentation of your Blue Badge, the attendants will direct you to the Accessible Parking for the event.

Can I walk to the Amateur Championship from the train station?

Yes, the course is a short walk from St Annes-On-The-Sea train station and is accessible on foot. 

If I want to leave the Championship and return later in the day, is this possible?

All ticketholders will be able to leave the Championship and return later in the day, as long as it is the same person returning, and they can present a valid ticket upon re-entry. 

Will autographs and other interactions with players be allowed?

While autograph requests are permitted, no requests should be made once a player begins a competitive round,  A player may elect to sign autographs prior to or at the conclusion of their round. 

Can I purchase tickets to the Amateur Championships from another website?

The only official source of tickets for the Amateur Championship is via the R&A website or the official Eventbrite listing Any tickets made available on websites such as Viagogo,, Stubhub, eBay or Gumtree are not done so with the permission of The R&A and we strongly recommend that customers do not purchase tickets from such third party re-sellers Tickets sold on these sites may be refused entry to the Championship. 

I can no longer attend. Can tickets be returned?

If you wish to cancel your order you may do so by informing us within 48 hours of purchase. If you would like to be considered for a refund as an exception to the above policy, please contact us at, explaining your circumstances.


Do I need an internet connection?

Yes, you will need an internet connection to receive your tickets, as well as activating these tickets at the venue. Should there be no reliable 4G signal in the area, complimentary WIFI will be available at the venue if required.

Can I send tickets to my guests, friends or family?

Yes, you can securely send your tickets to a guest, friend or family member by forwarding the email you received with your ticket attached, or printing a paper copy for your guest.


How should I prepare my smartphone to enter the venue?
The battery of your phone should be charged, and you should enable your internet and Bluetooth connection. Please note that there will be complimentary WIFI at the venue if required. 

How to enter the venue with digital tickets? 
At the entrance, simply present your smart phone with your ticket displaying the QR code. 

What do I do if my mobile device’s battery runs out? 
Please make sure you arrive at the venue with your smartphone battery charged. You won’t be able to show your tickets without battery. If your phone has run out of battery or has any issues, please go to the on-site ticket office where they will be able to assist you.
