Stuart Grehan and Eliot Baker will face Preston Stout and Ethan Fang in the opening foursomes contest of the 51st Walker Cup at Lahinch.
Grehan and Baker joined forces for Great Britain and Ireland at Cypress Point 12 months ago, and Captain Dean Robertson has paired them together once more. The opening match of the weekend sees them take on an impressive American duo comprising the world’s top ranked amateur player in Stout and 2025 Amateur Champion Fang. They will tee off at 8.30am on Saturday. Connor Graham and Tyler Weaver (GB&I) also played together in last year’s Walker Cup, and they will resume their partnership on Saturday morning. They will take on Americans Jay Leng Jr, fresh from reaching the final of the US Amateur Championship, and Kihei Akina, who reached the quarter-final of The 131st Amateur Championship, in the second match out at 8.40am. Luke Poulter and Sam Easterbrook (GB&I) will play against Miles Russell and Tyler Watts (USA) in the third match at 8.50am, before the final contest of the opening session sees Niall Sheils Donegan and Josh Hill (GB&I) face Josiah Gilbert and Ryder Cowan (USA) at 9am.
