Christo Lamprecht is set to win the Silver Medal at The 151st Open after becoming the sole amateur to make the cut at Royal Liverpool.
The 22-year-old was unable to replicate his opening-round brilliance, where he shot a fabulous 66 to share the overall lead, but he nevertheless did enough to reach the weekend on three-over-par. His second-round 79 featured eight bogeys on a day where scoring was tough, but The Amateur Champion finished just on the cut line.Opening round focus
Lamprecht will rightly choose to focus on a sensational opening round, where he made seven birdies – including gains at all three par-5s.
