Final Qualifying for The Open always delivers a day of high drama.
A host of big names including two major champions, a former world number one, several Ryder Cup heroes and a popular YouTuber and broadcaster will tee it up across four venues at Final Qualifying on Tuesday, 1 July.Burnham and Berrow, Dundonald Links, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire will each host 36-hole stroke play events, with five qualifying places at Royal Portrush available at each.All the action from Final Qualifying can be followed on The Open website with live scoring and live blog updates throughout the day. Final Qualifying Radio will go live on The Open App and R&A TV from 4:30pm so you can tune in to all the big moments as the race to reach Portrush intensifies.The draw for Tuesday’s qualifying is now live on The Open website.Dundonald Links will welcome a former world number one in Lee Westwood, Ryder Cup player Jamie Donaldson, and YouTuber and broadcaster Peter Finch. Rafa Cabrera Bello, who enjoyed a finish of T4 at The Open days after winning the Scottish Open at Dundonald in 2017, will also compete at the venue.
Lee Westwood will compete at Final Qualifying.
Among those who will play at Royal Cinque Ports are father and son Ian and Luke Poulter, along with former US Open champion Graeme McDowell and Matthew Southgate, who has come through Final Qualifying no fewer than five times.West Lancashire will host former Masters champion Danny Willett and Shubhankar Sharma, who made the cut the last time The Open was at Portrush, while Burnham and Berrow will welcome Chris Wood, who has enjoyed T3 and T5 finishes at The Open, and last year’s Amateur Championship winner Jakob Skov Olesen.
