Golfer and Club Surveys to understand the Rules of Golf in practice
From the top professional Tour events in the world to a local club competition, the Rules of Golf are the same for golfers on a global scale. But which Rules come into play most often for you as a golfer or as a competition administrator? The R&A is committed to gaining a clearer understanding of which Rules are being used most frequently, how the Rules of Golf are being applied in practice and any areas that may cause confusion for golfers or for those involved in administering the sport.Through the distribution of two surveys to golfers and club officials over the coming the weeks, The R&A is keen to hear your experiences of the Rules. The Golfer Survey is designed for all individuals who play golf on a golf course, irrespective of their level of Rules knowledge. It is aimed at golfers who have played at least five rounds in the last 12 months. In addition, The R&A would also like to hear from those who are involved in running competitions at club level to understand how the Rules of Golf are used when administering golf competitions around the world via a Club Survey. All responses will be analysed in aggregate form and individual answers will remain confidential. The R&A don't intend to publish the result in full but may reference them in future articles and communications.Take part in the surveys, available in four languages (English, German, Japanese and Swedish), by clicking on the links below.Rules of Golf – Golfer SurveyRules of Golf – Club Survey (only for those administering golf competitions)The survey is also available on the latest version of the Rules of Golf App and will also be distributed to golfers via a small number of national federations. The App can be downloaded here and offers excellent search functionality, provides easy to understand explanations of commonly occurring rules and contains diagrams, animations, quizzes and videos for visual learners. The surveys are targeted towards R&A affiliated countries and exclude the USA and Mexico, which are under the jurisdiction of the USGA.Thank you for your support for both surveys.
