The Open Amateur Series

Cameron Adam won The Open Amateur series to secure a place in The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush. After its introduction in 2023, the best performing player across The Open Amateur Series - a sequence of three elite amateur championships in Europe - once again earned an exemption into The Open. The player that received the most World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®) points across the St Andrews Links Trophy, The Amateur Championship and the European Amateur Championship this summer was awarded a spot to compete at Royal Portrush.

The Open Amateur Series – Counting events

The Open Amateur Series exemption is in addition to a number of other exemptions available for amateur players to reach golf's original Championship, including by virtue of winning The Amateur and European equivalents.
