The Open Amateur Series

Lev Grinberg secured qualification for The 154th Open after winning The Open Amateur Series. Since its introduction in 2023, the best performing player across The Open Amateur Series - a sequence of three elite amateur championships in Europe - has earned an exemption into The Open. Grinberg takes the honours receiving the most World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®) points across the St Andrews Links Trophy, The Amateur Championship and the European Amateur Championship.

The Open Amateur Series – Counting events

The Open Amateur Series exemption is in addition to a number of other exemptions available for amateur players to reach golf's original Championship, including by virtue of winning The Amateur or European Amateur.
