Opening Golf to the World
The GB&I Team for the Curtis Cup will be announced on Wednesday, 20 May.
First played in 1932, many well-known players have competed in the match which is the most prestigious team trophy for women amateur golfers. These include two-time winning Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthew, Dame Laura Davies and AIG Women’s Open Champion Georgia Hall. The 2026 Curtis Cup will take place at Bel Air Country Club from 12 to 14 June, and the team selection criteria for GB&I can be found below.GB&I Team Selection Criteria
- The current Amateur Champion if eligible.
- The current US Amateur Champion if eligible.
- The top-five GB&I players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR ®) published on Wednesday 13 May with a minimum divisor of 14. Should The Women’s Amateur Champion and/or US Women’s Amateur Champion occupy one of the five guaranteed WAGR positions the fifth automatic position will not transfer to the sixth ranked GB&I player in WAGR. Captain picks remaining places.
- Should one of the top-five WAGR players be unavailable or does not have a minimum divisor of 14 the place will not transfer to the sixth ranked GB&I player in WAGR. The place will become an additional Captain’s pick.
