Distance Measuring Devices

You may get information on distance or direction (such as from a distance-measuring device or compass). However, the equipment you use must not:

Measure elevation changes, or
Interpret distance or directional information (such as using the device to get a recommended line of play or club selection based on the location of your ball).

In some competitions, the Committee may adopt a Local Rule that prohibits the use of distance-measuring devices. Follow the link below for details of the penalty that applies if you breach this Rule.
