Ball in motion deflected - Two balls played from putting green collide
When two balls played from the putting green collide when they are both in motion, the players must replay their strokes without penalty by playing a ball from the spot where that stroke was made.
Any player that does not replay their stroke gets the general penalty and the stroke counts, but the player has not played from a wrong place.
But if a ball played from the putting green hits another ball at rest on the putting green and both balls were on the putting green before the stroke, the player’s ball is played as it lies and the ball that was at rest is replaced (Rule 9.6). The player who made the stroke gets the general penalty in stroke play. In match play there is no penalty.
