The 50th staging of the AIG Women's Open was held at Royal Lytham & St Annes between 29 July and 2 August 2026.

Shiho Kuwaki claimed victory at the 50th staging of the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes. The Japanese golfer defeated Esther Henseleit of Germany on the second play-off hole after both finished tied at five-under-par after four rounds. Paula Martín Sampedro won the coveted Smyth Salver as the low amateur for the second consecutive year, standing out among an international field of 144 elite golfers contesting the historic links. First established in 1976 and organized by The R&A, the AIG Women’s Open is one of the five major championships in professional women's golf and the pinnacle of the international women's game.  By staging this world-class championship at premier venues, The R&A continues its commitment to elevate women's golf, delivering an elite championship that inspires the next generation of players and fans globally. The 51st edition of the championship will be held at Royal St George’s from 27 July to 1 August 2027.

This year, the historic venue takes centre stage once again to host the championship's milestone 50th edition, marking the sixth time these punishing links will crown the ultimate champion in women's golf.
