The Jacques Léglise Trophy is the under-18 equivalent of the St Andrews Trophy.

It is played annually with the venue alternating between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe. Many of today’s top professionals, like Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia, have contested the Trophy in the past. In 2021, the Continent of Europe defeated Great Britain and Ireland 16½-8½ to win at Falsterbo in Sweden. Jacques Léglise served as President of the French Golf Federation and of the European Golf Association.

GB&I Team Selection Criteria -(team of 9)

  • Remaining places selected by Committee.
GB&I eligibility is based on being eligible to play for one of the Home Nations.

2023 Championship

In 2022, the keenly contested Jacques Léglise Trophy was won by the Continent of Europe by 13½-11½ but they were pushed all the way by a gritty GB&I team at Blairgowrie in Scotland. The 2023 contest will be played in France at Golf de Chantilly. The club, opened in 1909, is located 45 km north of Paris in the town of Vineuil-Saint-Firmin. It features two 18-hole courses, the Vineuil course and the Longères course.
