The R&A Boys’ Amateur Championship is one of the most prestigious in junior golf and is played annually in Great Britain and Ireland.

The international field attracts the best junior male golfers from around the globe and former winners include Sir Michael Bonallack, José María Olazábal, Sergio Garcia, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Adrián Otaegui, Tom Lewis and David Howell. Played since 1921, the champion earns exemptions into The Amateur Championship and Final Qualifying for The Open.

Carnoustie, Panmure and Monifieth

For the first time, the match play stages of the R&A Girls’ and Boys’ Amateur Championships will be played simultaneously at one venue when they are held at Carnoustie. Stroke play qualifying for the R&A Boys’ Amateur will be staged at Panmure and Monifieth. All three venues in Angus are renowned, with Carnoustie hosting the AIG Women’s Open in 2021 and The Open in 2018. Panmure also staged Final Qualifying for the AIG Women’s Open in 2021.
