Help a caddie can give with line of play or other directional information
When your caddie is helping you with your line of play or other directional information, your caddie is subject to the following limitations:
- Your caddie must not set an object down to provide such help (and you cannot avoid penalty by removing the object before the stroke is made).
- While you are making your stroke, your caddie must not:
- Stand in a position for you to play towards, or
- Do anything else to provide such help (such as pointing out a spot on the ground).
- Your caddie must not stand in the restricted area when not allowed under .
But this Rule does not prohibit your caddie from standing close to the hole to attend the flagstick.
