The Vagliano Trophy is a women’s amateur international match between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe.

It was first played in 1959 at Wentworth and is now organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association (EGA). The Vagliano trophy was provided by French golfer Andre Vagliano. The junior girls’ equivalent match was first held in 2011.

GB&I Team Selection Criteria - (team of 8)

  • The current Women’s Amateur Champion if eligible.
  • The top-four GB&I players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR ®) on Wednesday 11 June with a minimum divisor of 18.  Should The Women’s Amateur Champion occupy one of the four guaranteed WAGR positions the fourth automatic position will not transfer to the fifth ranked GB&I player in WAGR.  
  • Captain picks the remaining places. 
  • Should one of the top-four WAGR players be unavailable or does not have a minimum divisor of 18 the place will not transfer to the fifth ranked GB&I player in WAGR.  The place will become an additional Captain’s pick.
The team will be announced on Tuesday 17 June. GB&I eligibility is based on being eligible to play for one of the Home Nations.
