We have worked hard to communicate golf’s health benefits to a global audience – including non-golfers – and underline the role the sport plays in health and social wellbeing. We also recognise that golf should be open to everyone who wants to play, compete and excel in the sport regardless of their ability.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, when people were looking for outdoor pursuits which could be enjoyed safely, we saw a heightened interest, including from women and girls. In fact, 25% of the women who played golf in 2020 were doing so for the first time. It’s important to ensure this interest is maintained, so women and girls enjoy the sport for many years to come.”

The R&A World Golf Museum in St Andrews is open to visitors all year round.
Beginning as a cabinet of curiosities in the 1800s and known as the British Golf Museum for the past 30 years, it then entered a new era in 2021 as The R&A World Golf Museum.
